However if you own a home with monolithic or plaster cladding, it\u2019s important to check that external moisture is not penetrating the protective paint layer.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to regular painting to keep moisture out, Surecoat recommends you perform a <a href=\"https:\/\/surecoat.co.nz\/property-maintenance\/\">comprehensive check of the plaster cladding<\/a>. Maintenance checks should be done at least once a year and during the wet winter weather is a great time to do so.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Early defect detection and repair can prevent rot and mould from setting in.
